She obtained a Bachelor of Arts in psychology from Cleveland State University and a Master of Arts in Community Agency Counseling from John Carroll University. She has completed additional training from Cleveland State University and is licensed by the state of Ohio as a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor.
With more than 17 years of experience in the field of mental/behavioral health, Veronica practices from a holistic framework including cognitive/behavioral perspectives as well as alternative therapies and ultimately the mind-body connection. The latter are supported by additional certifications such as Yoga Teacher Training from Bhumi’s Yoga & Wellness, Cleveland, Ohio, and Heart Centered Hypnotherapy from The Wellness Institute in Washington. Lastly, she has completed numerous continuing education courses and attended various annual conferences such as, but not limited to, Post Partum International’s Conference in Kansas City.
Areas of interest and expertise include weight loss and management, smoking cessation, ADHD/organization/impulse control, Bipolar and other mood regulation disorders, mother/daughter relationships/attachment and bonding, adolescent identity/transition/self injury issues, grief/loss issues, co-dependency, post partum mood disorders/female reproductive health, and chronic illness/pain management.
In addition to private practice, Veronica has experience working with non-profit community agencies, residential and medical facilities as a counselor and a case manager. Veronica has been a guest presenter at university level courses and has led various instructional/creative workshops and group therapy programs. She enjoys pilates/yoga/meditation, aromatherapy, journaling, collage making, reading, volunteering, walking outdoors and dabbling in macrobiotic/organic cooking. She is available for speaking engagements on many of the above mentioned topics.
